Five Years Out of High School!!! Yay!
I've been out of High School for 5 years today, 5 years ago today on June 8th, 2002, I graduated with a class of 108 other bright students from TMCC High School in Reno, NV. It was a fantastic day and a wonderful graduation--at the Reno Hilton!!! It was a little stage production--up from under the stage to the song "2001 Space Oddyseey" so very cool, I still think of graduating every single time I hear that theme songs! I ended on the wing of a mock airplane on the stage--lil' ole me waving my arms boyantly! It was so much fun! My grandma's and my Uncle and Aunt and cousins and mom were there--it was such a great day! But you know what, I wouldn't do the 5 years over again for all the money in the world! The last year, perhaps, maybe, this time last year I was in Spanish Class and I really enjoyed it....but the best time of my life has been since I met Colin...and so while I'd totally do the last 7 months of my life over again, there's no freakin' way I'd do the last 5 or EVER, EVER do High School again. I think people who want to go back to HS are, well, I feel kinda sorry for them, b/c graduating HS is just a starting point! I've come so far and done so much and grown so much in the last 5 years, and while I'm nowhere near where I thought I'd be today--I'm in a much better, happier and healthier place than I'd ever imainged! I've a wonderful healthy family, great friends and terrific man in my life--I really coudln't ask for more! I'm proud that I graduated HS (with 29 college credits), but I'm prouder of who I am today, five years later!!! Oh and Colin says he's gonna propose before the end of the summer--that's a little wierd, but totally exciting! I'm sure he's not leaving now!!! He's still free too, but in my heart, I finally believe he won't! I love this time in my life--it's so fulfilling and so exciting! I never thought I'd be looking at getting married just 5 years out of High School, but you know what, it just feels right. It fits. I'm very happy about it! Besides, I'm looking at it, and anticipating it, but still in no hurry to actually do it! (Note to Colin: I will say Yes!) This is the best time in my life so far and I am going to soak up it up and enjoy every single moment of it! Thank you Lord for getting me to graduation day five years ago today, and for getting me here, where I am right now--You couldn't be doing a better job! Thank you for it all! And here's to all of the kids who've graduated since, and will graduate this weekend--the Class of 2002 (me) to the Class of 2007! We're pretty cool! Oh and the Class of 2008 too 'cuz that's when my sister, Klc, will be graduating--next year already!!! Yikes!!!! I'm so proud of her too, all of my sisters, I couldn't be prouder of them all!!! Happy Graduation Day to all of us--whatever it may that you, or I, or graduating from and/or moving on too....let the Lord guide us and fill our hearts with love and hope--there's always hope and it always gets better!!!
In Light N' Love,
-Sarah Liz :)
