TY Member Spotlight Questions

Hey Everyone, sorry it's been SO long, I've been busy, every time I've meant to sit down and write, something's come up-sorry-anyhow, so far, 2006 is even BETTER than 2005-learning, growing, getting better EVERYDAY! I'm in the MEMBER SPOTLIGHT on TrishaYearwood.com, and here are the questions they've (the other members) have asked me-I thought I'd post them here! Hope you enjoy 'em, I'll write asap! -SL

FAVORITE BOOK:

Where the Heart Is by Billie Letts-I know they made a movie out of it, but the book was better-they usually are! I just read Wynonna's Memoir and that really moved me-so that's on my list now too! I also have a book of affirmations that I carry with me all the time-it's kind of like my own personal Bible-I'm BIG on POSITIVE THINKING!! smile.gif

FAVORITE QUOTE:
LOL! SOOOOOOO many, I LIVE ON QUOTES! My philosophy is the quote at the bottom of my posts on here, "I could've missed the pain, but I'd of had to miss the dance." Basically, that describes my life, through everything, good and bad, sad and painful, I've STILL experienced TRUE JOY, HAPPINESS and LOVE-and those are the things I wouldn't have missed for ANYTHING or ANYONE! Here are a just a FEW of my favorite quotes:

We either make ourselves happy or miserable. The amount of work is the same.
-Carlos Castaneda

To the world you might be one person, but to one person you might be the world.

Kindness is wisdom.

You miss 100% of the shots you never take; you don't win big if you don't risk big!

If you are going through hell...keep going.
-Winston Churchill

Bitter or Better? The choice is yours!

Always be loyal & fair! -My Mother

The best way to predict your future is to create it!

I shall allow no man to belittle my soul by making me hate him.
-Booker T. Washington

Don't trade in your sanity for someone else's.

The only way to pass any test is to take it!

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

Nothing is a waste of time if you use the experience wisely.
-Auguste Rodin

In the midst of movement and chaos, keep stillness inside of you.
-Deepak Chopra

The riches people are the healthiest people!

The greater part of our happiness depends on our dispositions and not on our circumstances. -Martha Washington

There may be more to lear from climbing the same mountain a hundred times than by climbing a hundred different mountains. -Richard Nelson

If you spend your whole life waiting for the storm, you’ll never enjoy the sunshine.
-Morris West

There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.
-Edith Wharton

NITE OWL/EARLY RISE:
By NATURE, I'm a Night Owl-BUT, in the last few months-I've become (by NUTURE) a MORNING PERSON- and have found that I really enjoy getting up around 7am or so-sleeping in now is 9am-which I think is depressing-but I still have to force myself into bed at 11pm or 12am each nite! LOL!

FAVORITE MOVIE:
I have 5: Grease, Forest Gump, Life as a House, Christmas Vacation & Steel Magnolia's!

FAVORITE FOOD:
ITALIAN! But, since I'm vegetarian now, anything that includes fresh veggies and really good cheese-YUM!

COUNTRY I'D LIKE TO VISIT:
Italy! Basically, I want to see the romance of it, the culture and EAT my way through the country! LOL! It's been my lifelong dream to go to Italy and next year, in 2007, I AM going with my grandma and her husband-I've started saving for it and it's quite motivating when I want something now a days to look at it and go "this thing I don't need-or ITALY!" The decision's always an easy one-ITALY!

Chocolate or Vanillia?
I LOVE VANILLA ICE CREAM but as for EVERYTHING ELSE-CHOCOLATE BABY! And DARK CHOCOLATE-the darker, the better! smile.gif

What is your weakness? (i.e Chocolate, Caffeine, Sugar?)
FRENCH FRIES, POPCORN, MY GRANDMA'S HOMEMADE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES(OMG-TO DIE FOR!!!), FORTUNE COOKIES, KRISPY KREME DOUGHNUTS & DARK CHOCOLATE! Mainly, the 1st three (french fries, popcorn, cc cookies), are my absolute KRYPTONITE!!!

What do you do to relax?
I MEDITATE!!!I try and do so EVERYDAY-at the very least, every OTHER day! Aside from that, I LOVE MAGAZINES-so I love to sit and read them-I love going to dinner with my mom-we always have the best conversations! I love to watch my favorite TV Shows like FRIENDS & THE GOLDEN GIRLS! They always make me laugh and forget my troubles! And, let's face it-SLEEPING!

What is your All time Favorite song?
THE DANCE by Garth Brooks!!! After that it would be GRANDPA by the Judds, IF THERE HADN'T BEEN YOU by Billy Dean, LADY IN RED by Chris Dubois and then SWEET HOME ALABAMA by Lynrd Skynrd

What's the best Advice you've ever been given?
I'd have to say the following advice was the best I ever received: LOVE & RESPECT YOURSELF FIRST-FOLLOW YOUR HEART-STICK TO YOUR GUTS-FOLLOW YOUR INSTINCTS-ALWYAS BE LOYAL & FAIR! Aside from those things, my mom once told me that the only people you REALLY have to answer to are yourself & God-so anyone else's opinion (good or bad)-shouldn't be taken too seriously-as long as you're making God proud-and yourself proud-and you can live with what you do/don't do-everything else is just gravy!

What are your hobbies?
I love to write, cook, read magazines, meditate, and of COURSE, talk on the phone/email my family/friends!

If you could meet anyone from history or the present, who would it be and why?
MY LATE GREAT AUNT PATRICIA JOSEPHINE (PAT)! There are actually SO many people from both the past and present that I'd love to meet-but most of all, my Aunt Pat b/c I'm told that I'm so MUCH like her that it's scary! I feel she is my gaurdian angel, she died when I was 5 years old, but I don't remember her very much-so I'd love to have known her more! Definately my Aunt Pat!

FROM the PAST: Princess Diana, Elvis Presley, Dolly Madison, Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Elanor Roosevelt, the men who drafted and signed our Constitution & Declaration of Independence (Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Pain, George Washington, James Madison, etc)!

From the PRESENT: Martina McBride, LeAnn Womack, Garth Brooks, Julia Roberts, John Travolta, Bill Clinton, Wynonna (again), Keith Urban, and obviously Trisha!

If you had to go on a really long drive, what three things would you absolutely have to bring with you?
Aside from food/WATER, obviously, I'd have to say LOTS of CD's, MY DIGITAL CAMERA & MY CELL PHONE!!!

Do you have an embarassing moment?
Luckily, I've not embarassed myself too much in recent years, there were moments though when I was YOUNGER, like a kid and pre-teen that I said some things I shouldn't have or that were inapproiate. I guess my MOST embarassing moment is THE ONE & ONLY TIME I LIED TO MY MOM-it was about a car accident I'd been in when I was 16-she found out and when she did, the look on her face just crushed me. I honestly had never lied to her before, haven't since and never will again!

What is your all time favorite poem?
You know, the funny thing is, I don't have one! LOL! Sad, isn't it? But, I really adore the 18th Century British Poet, WILLIAM BLAKE-anything he wrote is enlightening and amazing, imho!

Coke or Pepsi?
NEITHER, I GAVE UP SODA LAST FEBRUARY-but BEFORE then, it was absolutely 110% COCA-COLA! I never did like Pepsi-too sweet!

Do you like Chewing Gum and IF so what's your favorite flavor?

I do enjoy gum, but I don't really chew it to chew it, I'm more of a freshen your breath gum kind of girl-so I guess PEPPERMINT!

What's your favorite TV show?
I try not to watch too much TV, unless there's something specific on that I want to watch! My current favorite TV Shows are: DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, GREY'S ANATOMY & TWO 1/2 MEN! I LOVE COOKING SHOWS-TV FOOD NETWORK.....other than that-my ALL TIME FAVORITE TV SHOWS ARE: FRIENDS, THE GOLDEN GIRLS, THREE'S COMPANY, FULL HOUSE (please don't laugh or burn me at the stake!) I LOVE SIT COMS!

What is the best present you have ever recieved?
LIFE! Honestly, I'm so blessed to be here, alive and healthy and well and with my family and friends-it's amazing! My other best present I've gotten is the five women who make my life worth living-my mother, my grandma and my sisters! As for MATERIAL PRESENTS-I'd gotta go with the Hot Wheels Pink Corvette I received for my 5th Christmas/Birthday in 1988!!! THAT was SO COOL! My Lavender Corsette 16th Birthday Dress that my grandma made me in 1999! This past year, for my Birthday/Christmas-my grandma and her husband gave me money for college-and THAT I think (aside from themselves) is the BIGGEST gift ANYONE could receive-the gift of EDUCATION (without restriction or hesitation) is the BEST gift of all and the ONLY thing no one can EVER take away from you!!!

Walking or running?
WALKING! I can't run because of my lungs-and don't want to-it's better to take things slow, enjoy the view and be in sink with the reflective view of life! biggrin.gif

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

HAPPY JANUARY!

Many Blessings,
-SL
