Happy Mother's Day!!!

Celebrating Mothers, Grandmothers, Aunts, Sisters, Friends & All Wonderful Women of the World!

Happy Mother's Day, a day early!!! This is my first Mother's Day on my own, not without my mother, of course, but no longer in her household. I have my own. And I have to say, it's a little weird. I didn't send out cards, I didn't make a huge deal, I didn't even buy her a gift. I'm a bit broke at the moment, but she understands. I'm planning a wedding and facing that changes your relationship with your mother, at least it has for me. It's up and down and all over the place. I think my mom and I argue more now than ever. But I love her. She remains of my dearest, greatest and bestest friends! She remains my rock, my confidant and my hero. Just because my wonderful Colin has stepped in and is also my bestest friend, my rock and my confidant, does not mean that my mother is less. Actually, my mother means more to me with every passing year, and every passing day. Now that I run a household of my own, I've come to realize the joys and challenges of that, and how difficult it is at times. My mother's patience, generousity and loyalty absolutely amazes me and every time I think I can't love her more, I do! So, although I didn't have the money to get her a gift or even a card, I hope she knows that in my heart, every day is Mother's Day! Every day, I love and and appreciate her, and all that she is, and all that she does; both as my mother and as my friend! I love you mama, always, and no matter how married I may be, I'll always, always be your little girl! Thanks for everything!

Mother's Day isn't just a day for mothers; it's a day for grandmothers (I've got fantastic ones!), aunts, sisters, friends, and special women who are always mothers at heart!!! I've got the best women in my life, the best mothers, grandmothers, aunts, sisters and friends who are mothers! I've got an additional mother and grandmother now becuase of Colin, and I could not love them more! They are terrific! I've got many a reason to celebrate Mother's and women everywhere! We're pretty darn special, strong, unique and downright amazing! How blessed we are to have each other! To enjoy this crazy thing called life together, enduring the ups and downs and joys and sarrows, together; as mothers, sisters, friends and heroes to each other!

And of course, nothing like the mommy of a human baby, but I am Nellie's mommy, my beautiful, gray baby girl....my tabby cat! She is a real sweetie pie and I've been her mommy for about 14 years now. I have a maternal instict and someday, I will be a real mother, with a child of my own. I can only hope that my child(s) love and respect me as much as I love and respect all of the mothers around me; especially my own! So, here's to us mother's everywhere; real ones and wanna-be's, sort of ones and hope to be's: WE ROCK! Mothers and mommies make the world go 'round, literally, and since it's still spinning as we know it, we all have a special mommy or woman to thank! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY EVERYONE!
