Country Music, Baby Names, & Time to Clean.....

Ok, so it's been a week and in that week it's been stressful, complicated and HAPPY!!! My inner peace and inner happiness is coming back b/c I'm choosing for them to.....I watched the taped ACM's last night and here's my opinion.......


Ok, here's my rant....grab some coffee and settle in....LOL!!!!............GREATEST MOMENT: GARTH, GARTH, GARTH!!! When Garth came out and he got a very well deserved standing Ovation, YEAH! RIGHT ON! I'm not just saying that cuz he's Trisha' boyfriend, but I've ALWAYS adored Garth and have really, really missed him. IMHO, I think country music as a whole went to the doghouse the day Garth retired! But, it was truly wonderful to see him and that speech for Chris Ledoux was very well said and wonderfully put! Too bad country music fails to recognize its greatest artists while they're alive.....seriously, Tammy Wynette, Chris Ledoux, I'm sure you all can name some as well....here's a thought-let's reward these great people while they're alive to accept the award! Kuddos to Garth for comin' out though, that's WONDERFUL!!!! 2nd GREATEST MOMENT: KEITH URBAN winning BOTH ALBUM & MALE VOCALIST of the YEAR!!! He SO deserved it, he's been around since '99 on his own and he's WONDERFUL! Aside from him being so damn cute n' sexy, he's a talented singer/songwriter/guitar player and he seems really humble and grateful at all the accolades he receives-and that counts bigtime! I have ALL of his albums and they're all fabulous, but his latest one is the BEST! It so deserved ALBUM of the YEAR!!! And I could listen to it and him ALL day long! GO KEITH! CONGRATS!!! (Tim WORST MOMENT:GRETCHEN WILSON winning FEMALE VOCALIST of the YEAR.....sorry, but she did NOT at all EARN IT! Trisha was around 7 WHOLE years before she got it, Reba about three or four and even Martina like 4 or 6 years.....I'm not saying that Gretchen can't sing, b/c she CAN! But you DO NOT get NEW ARTIST & FV on the SAME night in the SAME Year! That's just NOT fair!!! I think an artist, male or female, needs to put out at least 2 or 3 albums before they win a prestigious award like Vocalist of the year or Entertainer. Just my opinion. I like that she seemed truly grateful, but still, Sara deserved it most of all. She's (Sara) been around a while and has made three or four consistently great albums-and I think you could tell she was ticked off, I would be too. I think Sara was robbed, and as for Terri, she's been around the longest-so she just gets robbed and robbed and robbed. Martina always deserves it in my opinion, but she's won it enough....she did look so cute and SO pregnant though didn't she! She sounded like she didn't feel well, I hope she and her baby due next month are both healthy and happy, and I bet it's ANOTHER girl!!! LOL! Anyhow, I'm DEEPLY disapointed that GW got FV, WRONG!!!!!I say, next year, since she'll have released an album and single or two......BRING BACK TRISHA YEARWOOD! SHE IS THE VERY BEST!!!!BIGGEST SUPRISE:BIG & RICH actually dressed up and showed a little class! WHAT a concept! I STILL don't think they can sing worth dog doo, but at least they dressed up, didn't get half naked and showed some respect for the genere they're in. I think last year at the CMA's when Big Kenny took his shirt off, everyone was suprised. It's my opinion that in country music, you keep your clothes ON!!! (ANyone remember the uproar Reba's 1993/94 Red Dress caused-those were good times) Especially if you're a guy. So I was very pleased that they stayed dressed and dressed nicely! Still don't like them though! Sorry if I offeneded any B&R fans.....GREATEST PERFORMANCE:I agree that everyone was a bit off, the sound system at these Award shows seems to get worse every year.....but I was truly pleased with the following performances: LEANN WOMACK-what a talented lady, she deserved that standing ovation for STICKING to country and knowing her roots. She looked so beautiful and cute....she was great! I also think she should've won FV, heck, ANYONE but Gretchen, too soon. But, I already said that! LOL! and FAITH HILL: I'll admit, a few years ago, I got sick of her, too much media overkill...... But, now that she's been gone and hasn't been ALL over ALL the time, now I'm ready to hear her again. I've always liked her and think she's beautiful, is an EXCELLENT singer and a lady. I love that she's a wife and a mom first and seems to be getting back to her country roots. That's great! I really enjoyed seeing her and hearing her, I bet her new album will be great-if it's halfway country! LOL! Too bad she's (Faith) putting it out around the same time as our Trisha, Faith will probably undoubtedly and undeservedly overshadow Trisha's release in the Press, but hey, WE ALL KNOW WHO WE LOVE- TRISHA, TRISHA, TRISHA! I was disapointed she wasn't there and didn't perform, maybe (hopefully) at the CMA's......but it was still nice to see Faith and LeAnn! Great job! It was also great to see Reba, as always, and Barbara Mandrell-what a class act! She STILL looks great! Kenny Chesney deserved Entertainer of the Year b/c he sold the most tickets other than Prince, so that's great. He's not my favorite, but at least TK didn't get it and since Kenny sold the most tickets, he definately wins! Entertainer of the Year AND a marrige in ONE week, it's totally Kenny's week! I was disapointed not to see Jo Dee Messina perform, with the #1 album and single last week, she should've been around and performed, but oh well.......Anyhow, those are my comments, I apologize if I've offended anyone, just my own personal opinions....I'm entitled and so are you........

So that's what I think, and I used to live and breathe for Country Music, now I have different priorities and bigger problems and dreams, I still enjoy it and am passionate about it, but not like I used to be....I've grown up, and just like life, I've changed....I still LOVE and ADORE MOST of CM, just not all of it and not like it used to be, but then again, what is like it used to be?

Mmm......I'm on the phone with my sweetie, Hugh, and we're discussing our non-plan plans for the day! LOL! No, actually, I really need to get off the phone and the computer and CLEAN my room! I also gotta empty out the fridge, clean it, do the catbox, my bathroom sink and vacum my car and check my oil...so as it turns out, I do have BIG plans for today and this coming weekend....but I have ALL weekend to do these things and with that being said....

I'm gonna go start on my list right, I'll write again later...bye for now!!!
