Why I Have A Great Husband....
Did you hear? I have a great husband! Without taking anything away from the boyfriend and/or fiance he was (and he was pretty good), my Colin is really turning into a great husband! Here are some reasons:
*He hugs & kisses me in front of his guy friends! So cool & so sweet!
*He doesn't get jealous when other guys (not his friends) totally check me out!
*He's got a nice voice
*He's funny & makes me laugh!
*He's been my rock, my shining light and happy place through all of my depression lately! And for the most part, he's been pretty understanding about it too!
*He really cares about my health & even though it's annoying when he gets on my butt about going to the Dr's--the reality is, I do the same thing to him and it's only because we care so much!
*He gives great massages and it feels so fantastic when he rubs my back and my feet!
*He's motivated me to get more organized--to a point!
*He's got good decorating tastes--not to make him sound gay or anything, but we're pretty similar in that area--the decorating our house thing--and that's nice! It's fun setting up a house together. Lots of compromise, lots of memories!
*He buys me pretty beautiful jewelry!
*He's smart and knows a lot about history and stuff
*He always offers me ice cream whenever he gets up to himself some--so considerate!
*He's left milk in the fridge for my cereal lately--instead of leaving me stranded with no milk eating dry cereal! (This may be a small problem, but for the longest time, it was a huge deal!)
*He interests me--like he's interesting!
*He does dishes--most of the time!
*He's, for the most part, tamed his temper.
*He buys me flowers: a single rose here, a colorful boquet there, a couple of lillies! This is one of my very favorite & simple things he does--so romantic and sweet! I love fresh flowers! Especially when he finds them on sale at Smith's for a dollar or two! Even sweeter!
*He has put up with my emotional crying and carrying on for two weeks now--God Bless him for this! Seriously!
*He has helped pack up this house and get us ready to move
*He has gone out to the store several times lately--even without me going along AND brought me home some yummy nectarines & grapes!
*He is growing his hair out a TINY bit, and spiking it so it looks so cool and sexy!
*He took me out to the Tropicana last Wednesday (a week ago), got us a room for the night and took me to a Lobster dinner! Okay, granted, the lobster dinner was only $20, but still. ANYONE who feeds me lobster is A-okay in my book! :)
*He also cooks a great lobster--hasn't done so in years because it's too damn expensive to fix at home, but none the less, he makes a great tasting lobster!
*He's also a great all around cook; some of the things I didn't like and still won't he unless HE makes them for me: brocolli and bean dip--but not together. Seriously, killer bean dip and out of this world brocolli--my husband is a great cook!
*He constantly puts away the dishes I leave in the dishrack. I hate that chore. Absolutely hate it. I don't like using the word 'hate,' but I have a serious disdain for putting dishes away. The fact that he does this, and usually doesn't bitch about it, is something I really appreciate!
*He's made the bed lately! We have a rule--the last one out of it is the one who makes it! I like this rule!
*He has gotten rid of a lot of stuff he owns right along with me; with the move coming up, we are both getting rid of old crap and junk we never use and don't need! At first, it was just me, but now, he's joining in--and it means a lot to me!
*He has worked tirelessly to calm me down when I've cried lately, and been pretty understanding when I have.
*Things aren't such a damn battle anymore, he's more willing to compromise and he's kicking ass both at work and at home!
*He is one of the top two sellers at the #4 store in the COUNTRY--in the United States! My husband's store is #4!!! Out of like 1,600 total. He's such a fantastic salesman, he could sell dog do, he totally rocks the Depot and sells his butt off! I am so proud! And obviously he's charming, he got me didn't he?
*He told me I looked pretty the other day and the day before that he said I looked "really good."
*He's been more affectionate and I always love that!
*He's being patient with my own learning curve about how to create and handle a true partnership! And he's right, it is for the best!
*He's got a cute butt--sorry for the embarassment, babe, but it's true!
*He listened to me sing the other night--and said I wasn't bad. This coming from the amazing singer he is (he really is, it's not just my opinion), it meant a lot! I'd never sang in front of him like that before, so it was sharing a new part of myself with him and it was lovely!
*He asked my opinion when it came to a purchase last week and actually asked me if we could afford it, to do the math on it and we made the decision together!
*He walks to the mailbox with me almost every night--one of my favorite things to do with him!
*He cooked dinner last night--yummy!
*He picked up his own Rx the other night!
*He has been better about eating dinner at the actual kitchen table--I love it!
*He's a good friend, to me, and the other friends that he has.
*He's extremely loyal!
I totally love him, he's not perfect by any means. Some of his habits drive me absolutely bonkers and both of us are really stubborn, but learning how to yield more easily. Our marriage is still hard at times, who's isn't, really? I think it will always be a learning curve, but it's good--it's really good. We're certainly not bored and totally willing to work at it! And that's what counts! Marriage takes something special from you and out of you, and forces you to grow up (whether you like it or not) if you want to do it right and do it happily. But overall, I love my husband more and more every single day! And I feel so incredibly lucky to be his wife!
I am proud of him and proud of us!
Life is crazy busy, stressful and odd--but it is so much better when you have a true partner to share it with! So, overall, life is good. And this entry is dedicated to my husband--it may not be an entire blog, babe, but it is an entry that is completely yours! Love you, sweetheart!
In Light N' Love,
-Sarah Liz :)
*By the way, today's link is to the question on Yahoo! that asks "Is Marriage the best or worst part of life?" My answer is that it depends on the time and what else is going in your head, your heart and your life--it can be the worst--not that I would know this. But is maddening at times. Overall, though, marriage has definitely been one of the best things in my life! :) Check the link out for yourself and, please let me know what you think!
