HAPPY EASTER!!!
HAPPY EASTER Everyone!
I LOVE this time of year, Christmas, 4th of July and Easter are my FAVORITE Holidays, well those and Mother's Day. Anyhow, I love what this holiday (Easter) means, Jesus' rising, ascending and Resurrection. What an inspiring, motivating and beautiful concept! I also love this time of year, the flowers blooming, trees growing, everything turning green again, baby animals being born--it's so inspiring and life affirming. Mom and I had an absolutely declious dinner this afternoon; grilled halibut with dill/cucumber sacuse, grilled asparagus, coucous salad and deviled eggs wtih strawberry shortcake for dessert--so beyond yummy I can't even tell you! I'm So glad I got up today! :) This is the email I sent out to my family and friends today:
Dear Family & Friends,
As I celebrate Easter today, I am thinking of you--thanking God for your presence in my life, and thanking Him also for the abundance of blessings in my life-those of which include all of you! Since I didn't have time to send out cards, I decided to send a long a few quotes about what Easter means to me. I did not write them myself, but I hope you find them inspiring and enjoyable! I wish each of you a very happy, healthy and beautiful Easter filled with family, friends and much, much love! And remember, no matter what your trials, God is there, He can, and He did, rise above it all! Let His spirit touch your heart on this gorgeous spring holiday and always!
HAPPY EASTER!!!
Much Love & Many Blessings,
Your Friend,
-Sarah Liz
EASTER QUOTES:
Easter is the demonstration of God that life is essentially spiritual and timeless --Charles M. Crowe
Let the resurrection joy lift us from loneliness and weakness and despair to strength and beauty and happiness --Floyd W. Tomkins
He takes men out of time and makes them feel eternity. --Ralph Waldo Emerson
Easter tells us that life is to be interpreted not simply in terms of things but in terms of ideals. --Charles M. Crowe
Nice thoughts, don't you think! I was privilaged enough to talk to my Grandma Elizabeth and Henry today, as well my Uncle Bob, my precious beloved sisters and Claudia--they all doing well and so am I!!!
I had to write a free prose poem for English today, so of course, I wrote it about Easter, here it is:
EASTER:
The kitchen smells of ham and eggs and potatoes, but it's not breakfast, it's Easter Dinner cooking away. Mom is calling me to set the table, "but mom, let me find one last hidden egg," I love finding hidden eggs. Even as an adult, finding hidden treasures is still such a pleasure. The trees outside are blooming, the cherry blossom coming alive, the grass is peridot green, the tulips display a rainbow of colors-yellow, orange, red and violet-fresh life, so inspiring. I love this holiday, this season, time for re-birth and re-newal. Spring cleaning, dusting off old habbits, begining again. That what Jesus was trying to tell us when he Ascended on the original Easter Day, for all of our troubles and sins can be forgotten if we only learn how to rise above them. Mom could learn to rise above her crisping ham right now, she's cursing at it because it's overdone. "Mom, no cursing--especially on Easter," I remind her. The table is set now, the freshly pressed linens adorn the big oak table and a few pink carnations in the sparkling glass vase. The deviled eggs are so pretty with their paprika and parsley sprinklings. We pour the wine, red to represent our Christian heritage, we crack the eggs, say a prayer, give many thanks and dig in. Easter is finally here, so is Spring, and life begins again!
Poetry class is going well, difficult as ever, but going well--the semseter is almost up.
So, it seems like St. Patrick's Day was yesterday, it's Easter already and Mother's Day is right around the corner, my other favorite holiday! :)
Anyhow, I'm going to go hang out with my mom, help her clean up dinner and just relax..
Life is great, God is Grand!
HAPPY EASTER!!!
Many Blessings Always to All those Around!
In Light & Love,
-Sarah Liz :)
P.S. Mom and I were watching the King of Kings and you know, Jeffery Hunter is quite nice looking, I don't think Jesus was that good looking--but Jeff Hunter sure was. I know, I know, not the message of the movie, but still, makes it fun! :) Happy Easter!
