5 Months & a Wonderful Weekend!!!

Colin and I have been together 5 months today, though it seems like much longer than that! We had an excellent weekend, one of our best in about a month or so, it was just perfect and lovely! Friday night, me, Colin, our mom's and his Grandma Bobbi, all went to dinner. We went to Capri, the Italian Restraunt at Sunset Station, and wow, it was really good! The food was delicious, and of course, the company was just the best! I'm pleased to announce that our mothers got along beautifully and everything went very well!!!! It was incredibly enjoyable! Colin and I knew they'd get along, but I still got a bit nervous Friday afternoon leading up to it, I mean, it's a big deal. Although I had one boyfriend before Colin, I had never officially introduced my mother to my boyfriend's mother--it wasn't so bad at all. I feel better about! After dinner, we all went back to Colin's place and hit the hay! Mom (Jerri) and Bobbi took Colin's bedroom and he and I set up my two air mattresses in the living room--it was actually a lot of fun! It was like a pajama party! Oh, by the way, I won the vacum battle! Remember how last week I was talking about the vacum issue? Well, he bought one! Yay! Anyway, on Saturday, we kind of slept in and then Jerri and Bobbi and I talked on the couch while Colin did his taxes. It was great conversation and they liked the coffee I made for all of us, except Colin, as he doesn't drink it. Oh well, more for us! :) After that, we all got ready and headed over to Jack in the Box for some breakfast (yum-I'm really into their 24hr breakfast thing now, especially the Supreme Crosiant, w/o the meat of course!) and Walgreens. Then we headed off to Colin's Aunt and Uncle's house. His cousin, Kylie, just had a baby. Beautiful, precious baby Alec, he's gorgeous and so teeny tiny, man oh man! He's great though! I held him for about 45 mins, it was absolutely wonderful! The poor little guy got passed around so much, there were about 40 people there at one point--that's a lot! I'm usually alone, or with my mom, or with Colin, so I was with more people in the span of a few hours on Saturday than I am in an entire week! It was great though! I've always wanted a big family, well, be careful what you wish for, Sarah! LOL! We played Sherrades and ate and talked and laughed. We looked at pictures of Bobbi and Jerri when they were younger and oh my gosh, they were so beautiful! They still are! But, man...not to jump the gun or anything, but I have confession to make: between my mom and grandma, and his mom and grandma, and me, of course, our daughter would be so incredibly beautiful! Wow! Anyhow,I love hanging out with Colin's family, they're a lot of fun and really sweet! They all really like me too, which makes it entirely great--and a lot easier! His Aunt Patti is always smiling and laughing and is just so cool! She's such a great mom! She has five children, FIVE, God Bless her, I bow down to her, wow! His Uncle Kevin is a man of very few words, but is really nice. He's a great dad too. Colin has said that before he has kids he wants to talk to his Uncle & Aunt first and get their advice--I can totally see why now. Seeing Colin hold little Alec was really cool. I think he liked watching me with the baby too. It was a possible glimpse of future, perhaps, just give me some more time! A few years at least, I'm only 23. Today, Bobbi and Jerri went to church, Colin and I slept in! When I woke up, there was a note next to his pillow that said "I'm in my room, Happy Anniversary, I love you, xoxo, Colin," how incredibly sweet! I LOVE it when he does little things like that. Like, last night, he kissed me and I didn't even ask, it was so sweet! (By the way, Colin does kiss me a lot and I don't always have to ask!) It's the little things that make all the difference to me, I'm big on the everyday things--for me, love is something you do, say, and prove each and every day. Big trips, big events, holidays--they're all great and fabulous and totally worth waiting for--but it's the little things in between--the hugs, the suprise kisses, the little notes, that's what I remember most! Colin really is quite romantic, I'm very lucky in that department. I just loved his note and affection this weekend, it was totally wonderful! After Jerri and Bobbi came back, we all took pictures. Lots of pictures with three different cameras! LOL! It was funny. You know, I always wanted to have lots of pictures taken, and live out of a suitcase--it turns out, I do! It's just in a different capacity. Instead of having my picture taken everywhere (without my consent) and being on the road sinigng (yes I used to want to be a singer), it's with Colin, at Colin's, with his family. And you know what? It's a hundred times better! Family really is what it's all about! Colin and I get that on a level that I adore! We love our families and it's great! Today, after his mom and grandma left, we just hung out. We went to the market, watched a movie, talked and relaxed! It was really great! I cooked dinner for us--a delicious one at that, which we both totally enjoyed! I made Mahi Mahi, artichokes and garlic bread--it was so yummy! All in all, it was the best weekend in a while! It was full of love, laughter, family, friends, and my man--it was great! Anyway, it's 10:50pm, goodnight! Thank you Lord for a great weekend, for Colin's family and mine, for Colin, for my health, and for my many other countless blessings--please continue them!

In Light & Love,
-Sarah Liz :)
