I Love Fridays, Best Day!!!
Okay, I'm still home, resting, relaxing and not doing a dam thing. I got to sleep in today, and took a longer than usual leisurely walk to the mailbox which wore me out. I seriously dislike being sequestered to my home. But you know what, today, baby, I had company! For a little lady who spends most of her time alone, I had a FULL HOUSE today!
Today was one of the best days of my entire life!
I had three of my favorite poeple in the same room with me, for an extended amount of time this afternoon! My mom, my boyfriend and one of my best girlfriends, JoJo. We all hung out this afternoon and laughed our butts off! My poor man, what a sweet, sweet man he is. He put up with so much this afternoon and a lot of estrogen too! LOL!
He helped my mother bring in our new entertainment center and helped clean out and take out the old one. He plugged the TV, VCR and Stereo in as well. He and my mom spent about, eh, 2 hours doing all of that. Hauling things up and down from the garage, cleaning stuff off and moving some HEAVY entertainment centers. At one point, while taking the old entertainment center down, they were debating over which end to carry down "do you want to walk backwards down the stairs or fowards?" Colin asked my mom, and mom was like "it doesn't matter to me," to which Colin replied "I don't care either," lol, after about 90 seconds of that, I finally said "Mom, you're here, Colin, you're there, okay, now go!" It was funny. They're a lot a like, my mom and Colin. I think Jerri (his mom) and I are a lot a like too. And our moms are a lot a like-perhaps that's why we all get along so well! Our moms finally get to meet next weekend--yay! I'm actually really excited about it! Next weekend it's all about his family, and that's totally cool--I love them!
Anyway, back to mom and Colin's adventure today. The new entertainment is so huge and tall that as of right now, it just looks funny--it'll take some getting used to. But between my mother having to stop and dust EVERYTHING in between the two e.c's and put everything in its exact place along the way, somehow, they got it all done. There was crap from one end of my living room to the other, I had to find a spot to sit on the floor! LOL! It's amazing how much STUFF my mom and I have, and we have no idea where it ALL came from! LOL! Anyway, while mom and Colin were doing that, I was sitting on the floor enjoying the show! They get along impecably well, but let's face it--the two most important people in my life (my mother and my boyfriend), working together on something, with my boyfriend helping my mother purely out of the goodness of his heart--that was a sight to see! It was wonderful! He's such a good man and the fact that he helped my mom is just so cool! My mom asked "hey, Colin, do you have a bad back?" I was like "um..." he goes "no, why?" I said "you shoulda said no." LOL! It was like a sit-com today!
My life was a sit-com today. LOL! It was great!
Anyway, while they were doing that, I was helping JoJo write a letter of recomendation because I'm the writer in my group (any group of any one I know!) and we were laughing our heads off at what we were writing. It was funny because I couldn't for the life of me say what I wanted to say--it was like somehow I'd forgotten English, lol, I couldn't think of the right words to say, the sentences we were writing made absolutely NO sense and we couldn't seem to say what we were meaning to. It was really funny.
After the new entertainment center was put in, and the letter of recomendation was put on hold, we all kind of conegrated in the living room. The four of us, my mother, my best girlfriend and my man; it was nothing short of comical! JoJo and I laugh all the time together, as do Colin and I, put us all together, and you can just imagine! LOL!
Poor Colin had to hear about estrogen and mamograms (it was on the news) from me and JoJo, and then my mom and him start talking about prostate exams! LOL! It was freakin' hilarious! I WISH there had been cameras in my home today, it'd have been a riot!!!
Then, I found something in the freeze for JoJo to eat and I swear we must've left our brains on the pillow this morning because she opened the box of food but we couldn't find the directions to cook it. We're standing in the kitchen panicking over the lack of directions. We're looking all over the box; on all sides of it, the inside of it, etc, etc, we're like "how could they sell this without the directions?" So we go "hey, Colin, check this out," I handed him the box and he goes "check the garbage, Sarah." When we'd opened the box, we accidently threw the directions in the garbage. LOL! DUH!!! Colin goes "see, you do need me," JoJo goes "yeah, apparently," and I go "at least you're good for something!" LOL! It was just funny. He knows, and I know, and everyone knows, he and I are great for a lot of things to eachother! According to his mother, I'm getting him to eat better, and at the very least, I've got him eating veggies! Hey, I'll take it!
Anyway, after that whole afternoon, mom went to the store and JoJo went to work. So Colin and I had about an hour and a half alone in my house! It was great! We just cuddled on the couch and channel surfed-it was great! That was fun also, we just love being together!
I kinda feel bad because the man came to see me on his day off, well, it ended up being not such a day off after all, and seeing my mom and gf too. But, he seems to have enjoyed himself somewhat, I hope he did, and did alright with it. He doesn't seem to mind sharing me, and that's a good sign. He can hang out with anyone and be okay about it and I love that. We're together alone so much, that it was rather refreshing to have other people around. It livened it up and made it interesting. Let me tell you, there was not one dull moment today, that's for sure!
So many of my family and friends are so far away in other states. It's very rare that anyone I love is in the same city, let alone the same room for hours at a time. I love hanging out with my man, I love hanging out with my mom, and I love hanging out with the both of them (sometimes, there are times I want them strictly for myself). Adding JoJo to the mix was totally fun! She's really funny and honest and it's just a great time whenever she's around! I love her! Seeing my bf interact with me, and them, was just really cool. I absolutely loved it! It was one of the best afternoons of my life! Granted, I'm still having trouble breathing and can't do a damn thing, because I'm still exhausted from the pnuemonia, but just sitting in my house, with my family and friends (or at least some of them), it was just plain cool! I hope Colin didn't mind too much and JoJo goes home on Monday (she's staying with me from San Diego), so all will kind of calm down around here next week. Sort of.
It's actually good that this happened today because next weekend it's all about Colin's familiy (as I've said before) and pretty much, the weekend after that, his friends are coming into town. Then, next month, it's one of his cousin's weddings, and his brother's graduation (which unforunately, I can't attend). The point is, it was great to be with my man and with others at the same time. It was a nice warm up to the next two months ahead. I'm not dreading it, I'm looking foward to it. But I will say that I let Colin off the hook for Easter Dinner this Sunday, I mean, it was lovely for my mother to invite him and nice of him to consider it, but come on, I gotta give the man a rest. He's been here twice this week, for about 6 hours each time, of which we've spent 2 soley together. So, baby, thanks so much, you're the greatest, but don't worry about Easter, you get a 'free pass' out of it, okay! On the upside, I LOVE Easter. It's one of my favorite holidays and I'm looking foward to Easter Dinner with my mom (and JoJo). It'll be great. We're going to dye eggs tomorrow--so much FUN! I love this time of year and love, love, love this holiday! It's the best!
Lesson for the day: two of them, actually; 1.> God will direct your words if you let Him, and lead everything. If/when something needs to be said, God provides a window for which it can be spoken. Thank you God for that! (More on this during tomorrow's post!) 2.> SHARING your life with a partner means sharing your life with them, their families and their friends. And that doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing. Yes, there are limits to it and boundaries need to be established early on. But, when push comes to shove, it doesn't have to be a choice. You CAN have a partner, a mother, another best friend and indulge them all. Sharing your time with people you love, and in a sense, sharing them with each other, can be a wonderful, glorious thing!
I also talked to two of my sisters today, Jordan & Kelsey and my dear friend, Claudia too! And Grama Elizabeth of course, and Grandma Joni too. All is well with them and that's a relief, so good to hear! It was just a lovely day! Even though I'm not 100% better, I am feeling somewhat better, and being around my crowd today totally lifted my spirits! It was a day full of love and a lot of laughter, and absolutely a day to remember! God I love my life! Thank you Lord for blessing it so much, please continue to do so! Goodnight!
In Light & Love,
-Sarah Liz :)
P.S. The link for today is for the word 'happy,' it's definately appropiate, because that's what I am. I'm HAPPY! I heard the song 'The Dance,' today and despite being sick with pnuemonia, and still in more financial debt than I'd like to be, this is the best time of my life! I've thought that a lot the last few months, partly because of Colin (okay, a lot because of Colin) and partly because I just am choosing to induldge in every moment! But, seriously, this time in my life, right now, this is 'My Dance,' this is what makes all that pain and even this pnuemonia worth it! Although I face hurdles and burdens as we all do, my life is so rich and wonderful. I'm happier than I've ever been! In the words of Paula Deen, "someone would have to slap me real hard to slap this smile off my face," good choice of words, Paula, good choice! Nighty night!
