Historical Events

I was watching a special on Hitler today and switched over the CNN during the commerical. It got me thinking "what are the five most important histroical events of the last one hundred years?" Now, I'm not a professional historian, but I personally feel that the most important historical events of the last on hundred years are the folllowing: in no particular order: here goes:

1.) September 11, 2001: for obvious reasons, it changed the way America lives, breathes, eats and sleeps. It changed teh way Americans tavel and view their own sense of security, and it also changed airline procedures all over the world.
2.) The Fall of the Berlin Wall: in 1989, because it brought peace and literally and figuretively brought down walls.
3.) The Holocoust: six million Jews were exterminated and the mascere still pains those who know it, lived it and survived it. No one, no matter what they're skin color, race, creed, religion or gender should have to endure anything close to the Holocoust.
4.) American Women Getting the Vote: I know, not normally thought of today but it started women's lib and gave women all the powr they have today.
5.) The very recent, all too tragic, Tsunami's: "I felt the earth move," took on a whole new meaning and the Tsunami's not only shook the earth, but redefined it. The Tsunamis redefined the term "natural disasters" and literal changed the continental structure of the earth. Hundreds of thousands died, and millions more lost their homes, loved ones, place of work and so much more. Teh god news is the outpooring of relief and compassion that has since followed the Tsunami's.

Anyway, I plan to write more about each of these give events someday. But right now, it's time to fix Dylan some dinner! Bye for now!

Happy Monday and

Many Blessings,
