HAPPY NEW YEAR 2007!!!

Wow! What a fantastic begining to 2007! I spent the evening with my sweetheart, Colin, and we had a really good time! This morning, he went to work, I slept in ('till 12:30pm) and then joined my man for lunch! I'm finding being a vegetarian is getting easier and easier, I don't crave meat as much as I used to and as long as there are corn or veggies or salad on a menu, I can eat just fine! Anyway, I'm here at his place, trying not to miss my own...testing the waters you know...anyhow, I was browsing around the Trisha Yearwood Webboard and came across this artilce "100 Greatest Contemporary Country Albums," and three of Trisha's made the list! That's pretty cool. Trisha's in my top five artists of all time, but Wynonna's still the first! But, two of Wy's albums made the list as well--which was very cool! I looked at the list and I have at least 15 or 20 albums on it and it made me think about the great collection of modern country music that I have! It's really cool actually! Colin and I have so much in common, but my love of country music isn't one of them! LOL! That's okay, we don't have to have everything in common! He can't stand country music, but oh well, he'll learn to at least tolerate it becuase I tolerate his music. Actually, he's got great taste in music to be honest, except for his Metalica (noise) and rap crap (more noise), we can listen to the same stuff (whcih isn't country) and be okay with it. One of my favorite things about Colin is that he likes romantic songs--he's such a romantic man, I got very lucky this time. Anyway, despite that, I'm still going to love and adore my country music and I'm still going to be me. I can still be me, Sarah, my mother's daughter, a grandaughter, a sister, a writer, and above all else, a child of God. And I'll still like my country music. Colin fell for ME, and all of me, so that's what I'm going to continue to be.

Anyway, the albums on this list are really cool...some of my favorites include (which I own):

Fly-Dixie Chicks
Love Travels-Kathy Mattea (one of my favorite CD's of ALL time)
Time Passes By-Kathy Mattea

Here's the post I wrote about my response to TY having three albums on the list:

Hearts in Armor is not one of my favorite TY albums, but it does include two of my favorite TY songs, "Wrong Side of Memphis," and the highly overlooked "Down On My Knees," which is one of my favorite songs of all time! Love, love, love that song! "Thinkin' About You," is the first TY album I bought for myself, and it is in my personal top three TY albums to date! "Thinkin' About You," the song, is one of my most favorite TY songs, and the other songs on that album such as "You Can Sleep While I Drive," "Fairytale," "I Wanna Go Too Far," and the brilliant Tammy Wynette cover are simply excellent! I love the TAY album! My other favorite TY albums are Real Live Woman, the WHOLE thing, while a little dreary, is simply beautiful. I LOVE the songs RLW, "I"m Still Alive," and the beautiful but haunting "I Did." One of my favorite songs and TY songs of all time is on the RLW album called "Somedays," I adore that song and find it so full of hope--even though at first listen it can be a bit depressing. It's a beautiful simple song that you can feel the power of through Trisha's voice. Which isn't a rarity for her! My other favorite TY album, probably my favorite TY album of all time is "Everybody Knows," this is the album that I find myself going back to again and again and again. EVERY song on EK is amazing! "I Wanna Live Again," "I Need You," "Everybody Knows," "Maybe It's Love" and of course the spectacular "A Lover is Forever," amazing! But my favorite song on EK and one of my top five favorite TY songs on the EK album is "Little Hercules," oh I ADORE that song. It's simple, beautiful and well-put. EK is one of my favorite albums of all time!!! Anything by Trisha is good, but EK is so personal for me.

Anyway, it's good to be writing about country music again. Sure, it isn't going to change the world, but who cares....I like it and that's all that matters!

So, anyway, so far 2007 is going great! I'm going to go clean up the dishes in the sink (yes, I actually clean sometimes!) and relax some more!

I'll try my best to write again soon! Until then, thank you Lord for everything!

God Bless!

In Light N' Love,
-Sarah Liz :)
