Prussian Virtues & Chocolate!

Okay, it's been a while since I've written, but I have been keeping my own personal journal at home. I've been busy with home and Colin and family!!! Life is great! Colin and I are going home (mine) to Reno this weekend so he can meet my grandmother, her husband and my Uncle Bob, I'm So excited! Today, I cleaned my room and bathroom (which I did two weeks ago and have to say I kept pretty clean in between--yay!) and spent the morning with my honey! Anyway, lately, I can't get enough chocolate...I'm not sure if it's Valentine's Day around the corner that's making me want chocolate, but seriously, bring it on!!! Growing up, I hated dark chocolate and only ate milk chocolate, but since recent studies have proven that dark chocolate is actually GOOD for you--oh heck yeah! I just want chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, and it's not even that time of the month!!! LOL! So, I'm here at Colin's and I was reading about Prussia, where my third great grandparents are from, and I was reading about "Prussian Virtues," here:

Even today, a certain kind of ethic is called "Prussian virtues", for instance: perfect organization, sacrifice, rule of law, obedience to authority and militarism, but also reliability, tolerance, thriftiness, punctuality, modesty, and diligence. Many Prussians believed that these virtues were part of the reasons for the rise of their country.

I can see that, I am reliable, thrifty (well, okay, I can be expensive according to my boyfriend, and I do like the finer things in life, but when it comes to my own money, I'm getting better at not spending, it's not like I have it any to begin with--but hey, join the club, right!). I'm very punctual (usually), and diligent--about everything. Well, I try to be anyway!

I just thought it was really cool that I found that! My grandma says we're related to Frederick, the former King of Prussia...that's awesome! Of course, ha ha, Prussia no longer exists, but still.

Speaking of heritage and all that, my sister, Jordan, is doing a report for school on King Kamayamaya, I'm Prussian, Hawaiin and a bit Chineese. I want to learn more about my heritage, Colin knows so much about his (he's very Scottish) and I'd like to know more about mine. I saw a report on the Today show this morning that said that Asians can't hold/handle alcahol--duh, I'm also part Chineese although I'm not sure how much. I'll have to talk to my dad, or maybe one of his brothers or sisters.....

anyway, I'm hungry, just wanted to post something and update this blog.

Happy 45th Birthday to Garth Brooks today and Happy 12th Birthday to Hannah Dean, Billy Dean's daughter!!!

Only two days 'till Reno, I can't wait to introduce Colin to my family, show him where I grew up, hug my grandma, and of course, eat myself SILLY!!! Yay! Yum!!

Thank you Lord for my beautifully blessed life--it's fantastic!!!

In Light N' Love,
-Sarah Liz :)
