The Never Asked & Lengthy Survery
The "Never-Been-Asked Before" Survey
Do you sleep with socks on or off?
off in the summer, on in the winter!
Do you flip your pillow to the cold side?
no
Do you want a small or big wedding?
...in between...I'm having a medium sized one...the perfect size for us!
What type of girls/guys do you usually go for?
before Colin, I went for older guys (like 6-8 years older, not 20!) and usually blondes!
Would you rather be rich and unhappy or poor and happy?
poor and happy....kind of am...but loving it! money can't buy happiness but it does buy a lot less stress! I'm not poor, I have everything I absolutely need, but I'm certainly not rich either! Much like everyone else!
Have you ever churned Butter?
Yes, in first grade! It was fun!
Are you trusting of new people?
Not usually, you have to earn my trust, but I can be trusting if I feel it to be right in my gut!
What is the most money you would spend on a pair of shoes?
I'm not a big shoe girl, but I could be if I had the money to do so! I would probably pay around $200 for a really good pair of comfortable, supportive shoes! My mom always told me that when it comes to good shoes that fit right and are effortlessly comfortable, there's no price to high to pay for them!
If you were a crayon, what color would you be?
Purple--somedays royal, somedays lavendar!
If you could win a couple front row tickets to a game, any sport any team?
I don't really care, not a sports fan, but I guess...the Denver Broncos because both Colin and my mom love them to pieces and it would be a dream come true for them and something we could all share together! If not them, the Lakers, because Colin is a die-hard Lakers fan and being from LA, I can understand that. Plus, well, I'd probably get to sit next to some celebrities and that wouldn't be so bad!
Would you rather help someone out or be helped out?
as much as I'm supposed to say help someone, and I DO love helping people...sometimes, you just can't. First off, you can never help anyone who can't help themselves or is so picky with things they won't let you help them! And also, sometimes, at certain times in life, you need to know how to ask for help and accept it! No one can do everything alone, so the help thign goes both ways! Usually, like 90% of the time, I'd rather help someone, the other 10%, be helped out!
If you found out you couldn't have kids, would you adopt?
Absolutely! It is really expensive and governmentally and state rigged, but so worth it! Doesn't bother me at all. There's SO many kids that need loving homes and there's plenty of people having kids of their own on this planet and adding to it! So, yes, actually, I totally plan on adopting! Always have!
What woke you up this morning?
a wonderful phone call from my grandma Elizabeth, she's traveling right now and was telling me about the antique shops she was visiting and the handmade raspberry jam she had bought! It was lovely hearing from her!
How was your weekend?
Fun, productive and relaxing!
Did you kiss or hug anyone today?
yes, my Colin!
When was the last time you cried?
a week ago Tuesday!
Ever thrown up in public?
no, I can't throw up, physically!
What is on your mind RIGHT NOW?
my wedding!
Would you take a bullet for anyone?
depends on who it is....my family or friends, yes, absolutely! Without thought or consideration, actually! Especially for Colin, my mom or grandma, my sisters, my neice, any of 'em....a stranger on the street; I don't know. Probably yes, but I don't know. I've been through SO much pshysical and medical trauma and doing it without good reason again just doesn't make much sense to me. So, no thanks! You never truly know, though, hopefully, I'll never be put in that situation!
Where would you like to live?
I dont' know...Oregon, Colorado (MAYBE), Pahrump, NV (outside of Vegas), Idaho! Lots of places! The options are almost endless!
What kind of house would you like?
LOL! Wow! Other than my wedding, this has been on the forfront of my mind lately! I'm, totally into house-hunting and dreamign and schemeing! ANY HOUSE would be great, a home to live in is SUCH a blessing and every single day, I thank God that I have such a nice warm/cool one that's big enough for the two of us and beautiful! Having a home is one of the greatest blessings in life! And honestly, I LOVE our townhome and wouldn't mind living in another one at all! If Colin and I ended up buying a nice, spacious townhome, like the one we have now, with a nice kitchen (ours is the perfect size, not too big, not too small!), plus a linen closet and the loft we have now...man, I'd absolutely love it! I wouldn't mind that all! But, if not a towhome than a big home...not stupid big or greedy big...but, definately, larger rather than smaller! Truth be known, I'd also like someone to clean it all...well, not weekly, I can do that, but once a month, a professional house cleaner! Yeah, totally! As for the house, I'd like sustainable, renewable materials that are easy on the environment! I'd like double pain windows and recycled carpet! I'd also like an easy recyling system either under my sink or in my garage! Oh, a 3 car garage....2 for car parking and 1 for storage! I want at least 3 bedrooms, no more than 5 and at least 2 bathrooms. I'd love 2 and a 1/2 bathrooms actually! A full laundry room with wash sink in it and storage! A big kitchen, preferably with an island and pantry--perhaps walk in! With granite or faux-granite counter tops, and stainless steel Kenmore appliances (refigerator, dishwasher) and a Wolf Stove/Oven and induction cooktop! I'd like a water purifier in my home and all those energy efficient light bulbs (I have them now actually) as well as some recessed lighting; in the kitchen, in my bedroom/bathroom, living room! A definite for me is a sink in front of the window so I can look outside while I do the dishes! Lots of storage in the kitchen! Like built in cabinets and cubbords with pull out thingys! I'd like a breakfast nook or sunroom, one or the other, or perhaps both! An open floor plan with a big living room and our TV on the wall! I'd like a master bathroom with two sinks so me and Colin don't have to get ready in seperate bathrooms! A walk-in closet, or at least, 2 seperate closets, one for me, one for him! A shoe rack and a place to display all of my purses (I'm a purse girl!). I'd like a bedroom with vaulted cielings (like we have now) so it feels bigger than it really is. And also, space for a Queeen Sized Sleep Number Bed! We really need a Sleep Number Bed! With plenty of room to walk around in the bedroom and perhaps a little sitting area...not seperate from the bedroom itself, but room within it for one, you know! A LINEN CLOSET, a definite necessity! (One of the few things my home now is seriously lacking!) A guest room that could be a home office and guest bedroom! If we have kids, a room for them! Somewhat of a yard, not too big, not too small with grass and space to run! I'd like flowers in the front and an herb garden in the back, and tomatoes too--nothing beats home grown tomatoes, and if I could learn to grow one thing besides herbs, it'd be tomatoes, yum! I'd like a nice walk way leading up to the home and good curb appeal! I want my house to either be like light yellow, light blue or light green w/ white trim--from the outside! But that part doesn't really matter, as long as it's not like pink, purple or ugly gold! And no gray either! I'd like a seperate shower and large free-standing tub in our master bathroom! Like one of those old claw-foot tubs, they're so neat! Or a roman tub! And um, let's see...OH...a meditation room! Definately a room that's only used for medtiation! (A 3rd or 4th bedroom) And Colin is a guy, so he wants his game room! I'd like to have him have it too! I actually love my grandma's house, it's the perfect floorplan and the perfect size, with pretty much everything I've mentioned above, so, I'd definately take her house (of course, not FROM her! LOL!) or build one just like it if I could! Honestly! I know I sound greedy with everything I've mentioned above, but I don't know, the next logical step after marriage is buying a house and lately, I've been REALLY INTO looking at them! You can't win big if you don't dream big and a girl can dream can't she? I've been watching TONS of house shows on HGTV, and thinking about what I want our dream house to look like! I know that most likely, we will NOT get this kind of house our first time around, or perhaps not ever, but someday, the house I've mentioned above is the house I'd love us to have! It's my dream house, and I think, Colin's too! So, that's the kind of house I'd like! Our ultimate goal/dream is to buy a piece of land and build it from the ground up! That's our ULTIMATE DREAM! Yeah, I know, HIGHLY UNLIKELY, but you know, why not dream? It's so much fun! But, like I said, ANY HOUSE, really, with 2 bedrooms, and 1 1/2 bathrooms would be good! As long as I share that home wtih Colin and have friends/family over to fill it with more love, I'll be good!
What do you want to be when you grow up?
Happy and healthy! BE, is different from DO! I want to BE happy and healthy and retain some sense of peace, joy and contentment! I want to BE a good person who continues to grow and learn and love! I want to be HAPPILY and SUCCESSFULLLY married! I want to be a great wife and daughter and friend! I want to be a good hostess and entertainer in my home! I want to be an inspiration to others! I want to BE humbled by others; my husband, family and friends! I want to BE always, a child and creation of God--constantly inspired by Him!
What do I want to DO: for the next few years, I want to work in an office, like a clerical environment for either a medical office or legal office! After that, I'd like to either be a mom and work part time or if I'm not a mom, I'd like to be a full-time, well-paid, successful writer! Scratch that, even if I am a mom, I want to be a full time, well-paid, successful writer! I want to write a nationally known blog, and true life books and my own life story! I want to be on the best seller list and be on TV sharing my story and my wisdom and my books! That's what I want to DO! The great thing about a writing is that it's the best of both worlds; you can BE one and DO it, all at the same time!

What ticks you off?
Oh gosh! Somedays, myself! Other days, my family! My cat puking on the floor yet again! But at least she's here to do it and I'll miss her SO much when she's gone! People who go through red lights, don't put their blinkers on and tailgate! People who cuss a lot in public! (I cuss, just not in public, I am a lady after all!). Wal-mart! People with absolutely no compassion who refuse to open their minds and put themselves in someone else's shoes! And, child abuse...that angers me, stupidifies me and hurts me. How ANYONE could EVER hurt any one of God's precious miracles is totally beyond me. The fact that I can't have kids myself and stupid, abusive, careless people can, THAT ticks me off more than anything! Somedays, my body, when it doesn't do what I want it to or eating something gives me horrible heartburn! People who ask incessant questions about my size or my voice (they just keep going and going and going and have no idea when to stop and shut up about it!). People in stores who automatically assume I'm a teenager and am going to steal something! The government telling me what to do with my body! Most medical insurances! People who have degrees who automatically assume they're smarter than you and since you don't have one, you must know nothing! That sucks! People who are SO stuck in their religion that they refuse to look at other possiblities and try and convert you to theirs! Belief is good, non-questioning is not! And a dirty kitchen or bathroom..yuck! Stressing over money or seeign Colin work so damn hard knowing that I can't do that too--work as hard as he does! So, yeah, I TRY not to sweat the small stuff, but some things do in fact tick me off! LOL!
What do you like to listen to before you go to bed?the quiet; Colin breathing, my Nellie (cat) purring!
What makes you happy?
My Colin, my friends, my family, great food, good music, meditating. My favorite song, rocking out and/or dancing! Singing! Listening to Colin sing makes me VERY happy, he's so damn good! A good cup of coffee. A cold glass of water or iced tea! Popcorn! A big ole salad! Grandma's spaghetti or apple pie! My homemade chocolate chip cookies, speaking of chocolate, a Dove Dark Chocolate Bar! Hugs from loved ones, or most anyone! Finding a great bargain--on anything, anywhere, anytime! Planning my wedding! Dreaming! Keeping in touch with family and friends! Talking on the phone with them! People who are nice and kind and smile! When soemone says 'God Bless You,' without apologizing for it! Christmas, Valentine's Day, the 4th of July, Birthdays, our anniversaries, basically any holiday! Cooking! Even cleaning sometimes, it's cathartic at certain moments! Clean sheets, freshly done laundry that smells good! Having someone do that laundry for me makes me REALLY happy! Getting a suprise phone call/email from a friend! Sitting with my Nellie on my lap, listening to her purr! Colin holding me, or even just holding my hand! Kissing him! Talking with him! Candles! I love candles! Writing, I love writing! Reading magazines or books about spirituality or relationships! I like sweeping my floor, that makes me happy, odd, I know, but true! (I don't like vacuming though!). Watching my favorite TV shows like Friends or The Golden Girls! Watching Food Network! Watching a good romantic movie! Crying. Crying tears of joy or finally crying after fighting it and releasing everything! My wedding! Thinking about my honeymoon! A nice long, hot shower! Good lotion! The scent of Colin's neck! He always smells so good, it's not fair! LOL! Being home! Pictures' taking them and looking at them! My bedroom! Getting into bed at night for a good night's sleep! Waking up every morning to live another day! Babies; seeing a baby laughing or sleeping, NOTHING like it! Any child's laughter! My neice! My mother's voice when I need her! Colin's voice calling from work to stay connected throughout the day! Brushing my teeth! Walking to the mailbox! Cooking a great meal, or having a great meal cooked for me! Seeing loved ones and traveling to get there! Driving in my car or Colin driving us around if I don't feel like driving! I love driving on the freeway late at night with the music on and no traffic and just the street lights! Feeling loved or inspiried! And God! A lot in life makes me quite happy, it's the simplest things that do the trick!
