It's the Little Things That Make it Worth It!

I have a confession to make: I LOVE the simple pleasures in life, in fact, I think it's the simple pleasures, the little things, that make this crazy n' confusing life WORTH living!

My favorite simple pleasures are:

A suprise phone call from a friend or loved on, just because!
Good coffee in the morning, or a vanilla latte' as a pick me up in the afternoon!
Roses, Lily Flowers, Carnations, Tulips, Hydrangeas, Cherry Blossoms!
Mama's homemade cooking; hasbrowns, baked chicken, salad, scrambled eggs.
Grandma's Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies!
Tiramisu-seriously, right up there with great sex in my book!
FRESH FRUIT & VEGETABLES: especially berries, grapes, melon, nectarines and oragnes! Yum!
Good dark chocolate
A warm breeze
The sunrise
SUNSETS
Driving in my car in silence, or with my favorite song blaring on the radio singing along!
The freedom in driving my car!
My favorite sweater or t-shirt or jeans!
A hug and a kiss from anyone I love!
An personal email from a friend!
A card just because!
My mom's perfume
My snuggly, cuddly, cute cat, Nellie!
Watching the Golden Girls, Full House, or Friends on TV.
Having a great, hysterical LAUGH 'till it hurts kind of laugh!
A good cathardic cry!
Smelling the autumn air, when it first appears, or the spring air too!
A hot summer day spent lounging around.
Cooking a delicious dinner for myself! I love to cook!
Writing a great poem!
Redbook magazine and a glass of water.
Grapefruit juice!
Popcorn
A child, ANY child, laughing or smiling with me or at me! ANYTIME! That just makes my day any day!
A clean room, and a clean shower.
Getting into bed at night with my soft pillow and cozy bed!

The point is, these are all things I treasure, cherrish and look foward to. Some of these might even be YOUR favorite simple pleasures, but that's cool too. Just an insight into who I am.

Even in the wake of tragedies like Hurricane Katrina, I can still live on these simple pleasures and know that it really IS the small n' little things that my life so worth living!

My mama taught me how to live this way and why it's so important, and so with that, I think I'll go make dinner for us! Thanks mama, for being such a shining example of simple pleasures, positivity and uncondtional love-I love you!

I'm trying a new receipe tonight, African Peanut Soup, so wish me luck! LOL! Let us pray! I'm sure it'll be great-sounds delicious!

Oh and Happy Anniversary to my DAD (father Joe) and KIM (my step-mom) They've been married 9 years today and God Bless them for sticking it out. In a world of broken marriages, seeing any marriage last with sanity and continued love, is a totaly inspiration to me! I love you both So much and I hope you are having a WONDERFUL and FUN 9th Anniversary-next year's 10 years, I'm planning already! LOL! Love y'all!

I'll write again asap, until then...

Many Blessings,
