Appalician Music & Poolside Coolness!

Okay, so I made it five days in a row posting, now I'm sitting here posting again, having only missed one day, listening to some BEAUTIFUL Appalacian music. It's instrumental, which is sometimes nice, as a writer and lyrics kind of person, if there are words in a song, I tune into the lyrics first. Anyhow, I've got a lot of ideas in my head for writing poems again, but of course, they come at 12am when I'm trying to sleep! LOL! It always happens that way. Anyhow, it rained so dang hard yesterday, it was like Texas rain, just POURED, fast and hard. I got drenched to the bone, but it was actually FUN! Reminds me of being a little kid and "singing in the rain," which I really did. Funny thing is though it rains more here in Vegas than it does in Reno, don't know why, just FYI. LOL! This morning, I took the kids to the B&G Club and then came out and sat by the pool. I read a nice little novel, it's called "The Wedding," by Nicolas Sparks, it kind of a a continuation of "The Notebook," of whcih is one of my FAVORITE books/movies ever. WHAT a TRUE and HONEST, heavenly LOVE STORY! Whew! Anyway, I lounged by the pool, got all hot and sweaty (it was 104*) and then jumped in the oh so REFRESHING pool. Oh, it was LOVELY. I did some water excersizes and dunked my head a few times, really, really nice and fun. And no one was out there, which I know is kinda dangerous, but I stayed in the 3-4ft. end and enjoyed EVERY second of it. So nice! This weekend I'm going to take myself to see the new movie with Dianne Lane and John Cusack called "Must Love Dogs," so be watching for my review of that later this weekend. I've heard nothing but great things about so it should be fun! I start school at the end of next month so I'm all about fun right now. Responsible, clean, legal fun that is. Don't mistake me. LOL! I think I might be going to see Mark Wills & Deana Carter next month, I hope so, I've lived here in Vegas almost two years and have yet to attend a concert! Sad isn't it. I used to go to them ALL the time as a kid, but now that I have to pay for them, it changes things. Being an adult is HIGHLY overated, but so much FUN too!!! So, anyhow, this Apalacian music is just gorgeous. There's something so calming and peaceful about it. I so wish I had stuck with the violin, the piano I don't so much regret quitting b/c well, it's not exactly portable. But, the violin, man, I was STUPID to give that up. I know mama and I couldn't afford it at the time, but still, I wish I'd had stuck with it. Whether it's played as a Violin or a Fiddle, it's just beautiful. You gotta be really talented to play this type of music, Apalcian, b/c it's ALL about the instruments. It's so peaceful, and simple. It reminds me of simpler times, the south and green trees. My favorite song on this CD is called "Down in the Willow," just simple, calming and beautiful. I don't know how people can't like country, or Appalician music, it just is the BEST! Anyhow, my room is a complete mess, but honestly, right at this given moment, I could care less. I do need to put my clothes away and clear my desk up, but hey, at least my bed is made up all nice and tidy! Minnie Mouse, my 21 year old doll, got a "bath" yesterday (mom put her in the laundry) and my mom painted on new eyes for Minnie. It was so funny, that doll has lasted as long as I have, I got her back in 1984 when I was just about four months old, we've been through EVERYTHING together-man, she still sits on my bed, although I don't sleep with her anymore, I do draw the maturity line SOMEWHERE you know. LOL! So, today on Oprah, it was the average 30 old woman around the world; U.S. IS the best in some cases, and in others, the worst. I'm realizing that our health, or "wealth" care SUCKS now. It USED to be good, but not so much anymore. Americans, I agree, although I don't consider myself one of them, don't really know how to SLOW DOWN and ENJOY LIFE, and the simple pleasures it holds. I think I've always known how to do that, so that's good. My mama taught me that, thanks mom! My grama and Henry are up in Oregon right now at a Wood Show, I wish I was up in OR too, but having the house to myself and writing and listenign to music is pretty dang nice too! Be in the moment Sarah, be in the moment! Own it, feel it, live it, cherrish it!!!! Well, I think that's about all for now, I'll write again later. Talk to you soon! Oh, Happy Birthday to Martina McBride today, she's 39!!! Later Gators! (I used to be a Gator, it was my Elementary School Mascot-just a little tidbit) Bye for now!

Many Blessings,
SL
